The BVM, The Vatican and Project Blue Beam: Paranoid Thoughts

I posted this short item on my blog UFO Mary, about the Vatican's sudden interest in investigating, after twenty plus years, the visions at Medjugorje. And this at The Orange Orb, after I checked my email and found a link to a new piece about Project Blue Beam and possible use of religious scenarios as psy-ops technology.

Get Ahead, Go Figure, Go Ahead and Pull the Trigger

By Deirdre O'Lavery

Ugh. 2012. This is a topic I usually avoid, but as I explain later, it was brought up in conversation today, and so I figured I might as well say something about it. I typically avoid the debate like I avoid any end-of-world debate. Not because I think that if I pretend it doesn't exist, it wont happen -- no, I avoid it because a very large part of my childhood was spent worrying about a nuclear war between the Soviet Union and the United States.

By the time the movie The Day After aired on television in '83, I was completely and utterly terrified of a nuclear holocaust. So much so, that I was often physically ill because of the agonizing worry. Over the next few years, I had come to understand and accept that I have no real control over such an event, no more than I have control over an earthquake, tornado, giant solar flare, and so on. I had made my peace with the prospect of an unexpected and sudden death in a way that most people I know, have not. I'm over it. And so, when the 2012 end-of-the-world shit started flying, I just snorted and went on with my life.

Of course, that year doesn't mean the end of the world to everyone...

Today my girlfriend asked me if I thought that 2012 would signify the end of the physical world or the "end of an era of consciousness". I was a little caught off guard, because while she is an exceptionally brilliant woman, she is more geared for politics than anything esoteric. I explained to her that a lot of people do believe that 2012 will be the onset of a 'paradigm shift' and not necessarily a cataclysmic event. Of course, she then asked what my thoughts on the subject were.

It's a tough question when I really get to thinking about it. Mainly because it has yet to unfold so I can't possibly know what will happen, but also because I believe that something could happen even if its not slated to happen. And by 'slated' I mean 'preordained', or whatever. Simply put, if a major something-or-other does unfold in 2012, it might be the product of a collective manifestation. Now, I'm not implying that we will all spiritually unite and manifest a giant meteor or a rogue planet on a collision course with Earth, but rather, manifest this 'paradigm shift' business.

2012 is one of those bizarre curiosities that has crept into the mainstream. This has undoubtedly been due in large part to the current state of the world, and the state of the world of the last 10 years. Outside of the fear of death and destruction, it is often the hope for or belief in a positive change (even if mass destruction is a precursor), because frankly, the world really fucking needs a positive change. And obviously there are those who think the world will plunge into various darkness-es within the next 2 years -- like actual planetary destruction, nuclear warfare, biological warfare, alien invasion, and yadda, yadda, yadda. No longer is 2012 an end-date theorized by only the fringe communities, but by people like my girlfriend, my mother, her neighbor, your boss and his mistress.

At this point, the wheels are set in motion. The ancient Mayans could rise from the dead and announce to us themselves that it was only the end of a calendar period. But it would make very little difference now, because its been muddied by Hollywood, Sci-Fi novels, crackpots, and the overwhelming need for something drastic to change in our immediate future. It's no longer just about a calendar or an ancient civilization.

Those of you studying the paranormal in the early part of the decade might remember that the planet Nibiru was supposed to 'return' in 2003. It had a certain portion of the UFO community at the edge of their seats for much of 2001 and 2002 while they fed themselves a steady diet of Crystal Links, Mark Hazlewood, Sitchin, Von Daniken, and countless paranormal forums. Granted, 2003 wasn't as set in the mainstream conscious like 2012 is, but for me it seemed the next obvious leap. The world didn't end when the year rolled over to two and three zeroes. Nor did it end 3 years later -- and I seriously doubt it will end in 2012.

2012 just happens to approach at a very unbalanced period of civilization. Twenty years ago, sans Internet, we were significantly less connected to the horrors of the world. The world economy wasn't in the dire shape its in now. Climate change was a distant concern. We didn't worry about shit like anthrax in our water supply -- and twenty years ago wasn't the date etched into an old stone calendar. But here, at the beginning of the second decade of a shiny new millennium, we have all that and a bag of Fritos.

The planet needs a pressure-release valve and I think that's what 2012 really is. Like a diet or a quit-smoking date, it's a square checked off on a calendar to focus hope and change on. If you get enough people geared up for that date, something is bound to happen. Not out of any mysteriousness or the diabolical plans of some Trickster element, but because when something such as 2012 is so heavily anticipated and nothing comes to pass, the people have a tendency to make something happen. Maybe it wont be aliens, maybe it wont be a giant space rock -- but it will be something.

And if the world does literally end, so what? We are a live-fast-die-young civilization, and always have been. This should be right up our alley.

Owl Syncrhonicity: Lesley and Regan on BoA; Owls and Skeptoids

Some owl synchronicity here. My current Trickster's Realm column for BoA this week is about Monster Quest's Flatwoods episode, and the skeptiod "rational" explanation that the Flatwoods creature was an owl. Lesley, in her Grey Matters column this week, also for Binnall, makes the very good observation that it's ironic  skeptics use the owl, which is deeply immersed in paranormal, supernatural meaning, to "rationally" explain Flatwoods, Mothman, Kelly Hopskinville, etc. Lesley and I didn't know the other was going to write about owls; just turned out that way. Seems Owl is telling us something. . . (Mike Clelland, are you reading this? :)

See Lesley's Skeptics and Owls (with Some Cats Thrown in for Good Measure) and my Monster Quest's Flatwoods Episode and Joe Nickell's Infamous Owl Theory.

Speaking of owls, I've inducted debunker skeptoid James Mcgaha into the Snarly Skepticism OWL Award bin.

Dr. Lynne Kitei: Cast Into The UFO Dungeon

UFO Watchdog  is now in the hands of the hosts of the Paracast moderators. They’ve redone the site and added new inductees into the “fame” and “shame” categories.

For the most part, when UFO Watchdog was run by Royce Meyers, liars and hoaxers were in the Hall of Shame. Now however, it’s difficult to understand the reasoning behind some of the inductees into the shame division.

For example, the new managers of UFO Watchdog have dumped Dr. Lynne Kitei into the Hall of Shame. UFO Watchdog explains why:

So what is she doing here? Well, it's a bit complex. First of all, the Phoenix Lights themselves weren't her first sighting. It all started in 1995 when she and her husband saw three orbs near their home. They were oval shaped and three to six feet in diameter. They were soothing and mesmerizing and Dr. Lynne felt there was an intelligent presence staring back. So when the Phoenix Lights happened a couple of years later, Dr. Lynne felt that she brought them, that they were there because of her. She says witnesses felt "real time and long term transformations of consciousness" and that "mass consciousness of Phoenix" shifted as a result. In fact, people reported telepathic contact with the space beings who told them they had nothing to fear and that they meant no harm.

The phrasing is curious: “first of all,” as if they’re accusing her of something. Many UFO witnesses have had multiple sightings, myself included. Often sightings and encounters go back to childhood. Why Kitei’s previous sighting put her into a category of shame is not clear. Okay, so Lynne Ketei is on the woo side. That’s her experience, her thoughts. Unless she’s lying, or hoaxing, dumping her into a dungeon of UFO shame is just exercising personal opinion.

I will say however that the telepathic contact with UFOs is something that is often reported by witnesses, including myself. Whatever that intelligence is, is another story. Personal interpretations, beware. But the fact of some kind of telepathic communication is there. Too bad if this data offends; do we ignore it because it seems “woo?” How is that honest?

I suspect that Lynne Ketei (often referred to as “Dr. Lynne” which seems a bit patronizing) is in the dungeon of shame because of her relationship with Stephen Greer:

As a result of all this Dr. Lynne quit her job and basically enlisted in the Disclosure Movement. She was a featured speaker in Steven Greer's Contact: Countdown to Transformation, a "a special conference under the stars to celebrate and make ET contact."

I don’t waste my time on Disclosure -- I think it’s naive and a waste of time -- but at the same time, there is something positive about being a squeaky wheel. If cries for disclosure get some people to wake up a little, or make them nervous, that's a good thing. Those new to the UFO realm/arena/circus/carnival/-ology/field, listening to the material disclosure people have put together for the first time, like Greer’s clips of witnesses, might get some people to begin their own investigations. Greer veered off the track a long time ago -- I mean, no one should ever dare say with such (or any) authority that there are “500 hundred types of aliens watching earth” (paraphrased) as I heard him say when he came to Eugene several years ago. (He also seemed pretty full of himself, really kind of a pompous twit in some ways.) The latter is just personal opinion however.

It seems “Dr. Lynne’s” inclusion in the bad bin is based on her woo-ness, not on her honesty:
She has also joined up with Rebecca Hardcastle, an expert in "exoconsciousness," which is is "dedicated to exploring the extraterrestrial dimensions of human consciousness that link us directly to the cosmos and its inhabitants. Exoconsciousness is committed to preparation for peaceful co-existence and communication with extraterrestrial communities." advocating a National Department of Extraterrestrial Alliances.

I think much of Ketei’s take on things is kind of silly myself but so what?  That’s purely my subjective opinion based on my own biases towards things like disclosure and the gooey warm love fest about aliens a lot of disclosure and exo-politics people have. There are worse things, far worse things, and more important things, in UFOlogy than this to address.

How do these new would be UFO Police know Ketei is not telling the truth? Maybe her experience is just as she says it is. We don’t know. Is there proof available that she’s lying? If not, it seems harsh to include her in this category. And it doesn’t serve research well at all, for, as I said, many UFO witnesses -- again, myself included -- have had numerous sightings (me), have had them since childhood (me), have had telepathic communications with UFOs (or the intelligences behind them) (me) -- do we just call people like this “woo” and mock them, shoving them into a silly “Hall of Shame” category, or do we authentically explore their experiences?

THE BLACKOUT OF 1965 AND THE FIRE BALL

Read the Emails Following Post - Many Saw This Too!
blackout1-1.jpg picture by chrisholly_2009

I lived on Long Island New York in 1965.We had a huge blackout that year that covered about six other states and parts of Canada. It was in the fall in November. I was about 14 or so at the time.

I clearly recall sitting on the front steps of my house with my friend, who lived next door. Our parents were all busy taking care of the things you do in a blackout. Finding light by way of lanterns or candles and building a fire in the outdoor grills were filling the adult time. The kids were playing in the dark on the front lawns or sitting on the front steps of the houses talking and laughing. The big blackout was exciting. My friend and I were laughing and talking as teenage girls do when all of a sudden, we saw a huge orange reddish yellowish ball or orb streak across the sky over the houses. It was enormous. It went across the entire sky and was gone. I never saw anything like it before. My friend thought it was a meteor or comet that was crashing through our atmosphere.

We ran inside and told the adults. My Dad came out looked and went back inside. It was nowhere to be seen. He was far more interested in the candles burning inside the house then a ball of light that was nowhere to be found .My friend and I listened to her little transistor radio to see if the huge red orb was being talked about on the news. It seemed as if we were the only ones who had seen it. My father told us we must have seen a shooting star. I was confused at the reaction of the adults as I knew it was not like anything I had ever seen before. I was also a kid and soon forgot about it.

As I grew up I would now and then mention the night of the blackout and the large orange ball my friend and I watched cross the sky. I quickly learned that I would receive odd looks and silence when the subject came up as my friend and I apparently were the only ones who had seen it. I learned quickly to avoid the subject.

Years passed and I moved on in life to adulthood and a family of my own. As fate would have it I ran into my friend at a local event one night in the late 90’s. We were catching up with our lives when my friend asked me if I remembered that strange large orb we saw on the night of the blackout. I told her of course I remembered it in fact did not think I would ever forget it. She told me she had been so curious about what we had seen that she had been doing research on that night to see if anyone else reported seeing what we did. My friend told me she found that many others did see that large fire ball. She also discovered people had UFO sightings and saw strange lights along with many other odd events that day.

I began to look into this event and discovered that my friend was right in what she had discovered. Many other people did see exactly what we did on November 9th 1965.

I decided to write a short article about seeing that huge red/orange object blast across the sky the day of the blackout. To my amazement I received emails from all over the world from people who also were in the New York area or on the East Coast of the United States the day of the blackout and reported seeing not only that ball flame across the sky but many other things as well.

I was told of UFO sightings from New York to Canada. I was told how happy people were to read that they were not the only ones to see that huge fire ball streak across the sky. I had about five stories from people telling of lost time events on that day. I also was aware that the reports I was receiving were from very good sources. The people contacting me were in government positions or working in science or the medical field. They sent me detailed sightings or details about the day of that blackout in 1965. Many saw exactly what my friend and I did. It was incredible to me so many people had so many experiences that day that were untold.

The most interesting part of the entire event of the blackout of 65 is that so many people did witness so many odd strange events that day while so many others did not. It is the one statement or question that is part of every report I have been sent. Why did not everyone see what we did on that night?

It was interesting to me to find that the people writing or contacting me were all within a five year age difference to me. It may simply be that the adults that day were all busy handling the tasks of dealing with the huge power outage and most children inside that night with the adults leaving only the teens outside watching the world around them. It may be something far stranger. I have no logical explanation for any of it.

I do know what I saw that night with my friend. I do know others saw it too. If you were living on the East Coast of the United States during the big blackout of 1965 and you also saw something strange that day I would love to know.

For now keep your eyes on the sky!

Hello,

Emails about the Blackout of 65 and the Fire Ball

I have been sent emails and links by others who remember seeing the same Fire Ball during the 1965 Blackout as well as other unexplained things. If you recall this night please send your experience to chrishollyufo@yahoo.com Thanks

Chris

I would love to tell you what my family and relatives saw that night,at the time I was around 12 yrs old, I lived at that time in a little town about 20 min drive north of Syracuse NY.

.
At the time my cousin and I had the chore of scraping off the paint from the windows after our house had been painted. Like kids do we got bored real quick and laid down on the front lawn and started gazing at the sky when we noticed what looked to be a bright star moving around all over the sky.

As we watched we saw more than 4-5 of these things doing all kinds of maneuvers in the sky. At this point we called our families out side. I do remember at one point we saw a big huge ball of fire just above the tree tops. Shortly after we had the black out . At that point the whole family was out side sitting on the steps watching the happenings until the early hrs in the morning.

At one point we saw a airplane follow one of these bright lights the thing disappeared and reappeared behind the plane.

I will never forget that night and have been fascinated ever since with UFOs.

Thanks Sue

Chris

I was 15 during blackout, saw the light from small town between Buffalo and Rochester, NY.

Hi Chris,

I ran across your post on the anomalist.com and was stunned at the content. In 1965, I was a freshman at Utica College in Utica, NY. I remember that blackout. I also remember seeing a brilliant orange ball streaking across the sky. I thought it was either a meteor or a UFO. If memory serves, I was in my dorm room at the time and saw this flaming ball through the window. Thanks for posting this. It's nice to know others recall it, too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,
I also remember this event. I was living in Pennsylvania, I was thirteen at the time and was outside when all of a sudden a huge fire ball, that resembled the sun only bigger with flames licking off it, moved real fast from north to south and traveled directly over my head. I fell to the ground thinking that the sun was crashing into the earth. During the event, I saw the shadows of the trees moving in conjunction to the position of the object. I am glad that someone else remembers it besides me.

If you were in the blackout of 1965 and saw something please let us know. chrishollyufo@yahoo.com

Emma Woods and David Jacobs

In February, Paratopia hosts Jeremy Vaeni and Jeff Ritzman aired tapes of conversations with Emma Woods and Dr. David Jacobs. Woods is an abductee, and was a client of Jacobs, undergoing numerous hypnotic sessions.

There is much to say here, starting with the important reminder to us all that we weren't there, we don't know these individuals, etc. Having said that, after listening to the Vaeni/Ritzman program --- wow. Jacobs does not come across well, and I'm surprised at the lack of UFO blog/researcher comments on this.

Deirdre, of Interstellar Housewife, and a contributor here at WOE, did write a post about this a while ago. You can also visit Paratopia's site and message forum for more. And, of course, there is Emma Woods herself: Emma Woods: Is it Alien Abduction...?

Future Theater

UFO Magazine publishers, Bill and Nancy Birnes, are starting their own weekly radio show - Future Theater. Here is some information from Bill about the show:

This Saturday evening at 6PM Eastern on Future Theater, Dr. Ted joins us for a UFO Hunters reunion along with Dan Zarenkiewicz, our producer. You can catch the live broadcast at futuretheater.com or ufomag.com or lanlamphere.com. We'll have a chat room and open lines, too.

Follow the Mystic Orb on UFO Mystic . . .

I am so jazzed and honored to announce that I'm now blogging at UFO Mystic, along with two other newer bloggers over there -- Lesley Gunter and Scott Corrales -- and of course, Greg Bishop and Nick Redfern and Craig Woolheater.

My first post over there is on those strange beams of light being reported: Beams of Light.

Strange Beings I Have Encountered.

My life has been filled with strange events, encounters and people since I was a small child. Besides encounters that I would consider alien in nature I have had experiences with those I have not been able to qualify as human, alien or something else. Three of these happenings stand out in my mind as experiences with the strange and unidentified.

The first event occurred when I was in my early teens. I lived on Long Island New York at the time. It was the mid 60s and most of the Island was still rural small towns minus the crowded areas and malls that it has become today. At that time there were a few big Department stores that we would travel to shop. My mother liked Gertz which was a favorite at the time of many of the mothers. The Gertz we shopped in was located in Bay Shore along the south coast of Long Island.

My mother would visit Gertz about once a month or so to shop for the family. I would usually go along in hopes of talking my mother into buying me something new, as teenage girls do. During our trips to Gertz my mother would often point out an albino family by whispering for me not to stare but look when able at the unusual family also shopping in Gertz. It seemed we would notice this family shopping almost every time we were in the store. My mother would comment on how well dressed the entire family was at all times. I found a family of albino’s extremely odd and could not help watching them as we shopped for bargains at Gertz.

The five members of the albino family all were 6ft or over in height including the mother and daughter. The male members stood between 6ft –3 inches to 6ft- 5 inches. They were extremely tall people. When they walked through the department store they stood a head above most of the other shoppers.

Each of them had thick full pure white hair. They were beautiful people with high cheekbones and straight model like features. Their skin was white – pure white. They all had the same color eyes, which were clear, big, and very light blue. They kept to themselves. They would stay together when they shopped and seemed to be quiet and polite.

Even as a teen I thought about the possibility of two beautiful albino people who looked so much alike in height, looks and facial features meeting and marrying. Although it may be possible I knew the odds had to be nearly impossible. I continued to run into this family when shopping or walking along the main street of the town of Bay Shore for most of my teen years.

Time passed and life moved on. I never forgot this unusual family. Years later while attending college in the late 1970’s I came upon an article that talked about the eye problems that went hand and hand with those who were albino. I also read that the eye color of the typical albino runs towards the pink or reddish tint. I know that there are degrees of the condition which would have a lesser or greater effect on things like eye and skin color (or lack of it) in those with this condition. I could not find anything concerning albino’s who had clear big blue eyes.

I tried to find out if there were blue-eyed albinos or if this oddity could run in an entire family but came up empty handed in my search. I am not qualified to answer the question to the chance of this happening but feel at best it would be a very rare occurrence.

I thought about this family and had to admit that finding two tall beautiful blue-eyed albinos who married and had three tall beautiful blue-eyed children was either an incredible happening or they were not a family of albinos!

Later in life I came upon a site on the Internet that talked about the Tall Whites. While investigating the site I came to an artist’s drawing of the alien species called the Tall Whites. I was stunned as I looked at the same tall people with the same beautiful faces – white hair, blue eyes and high cheek bones as the albino family that use to shop for their clothes and house wares in Gertz department store in Bay Shore , Long Island , New York in the 1960’s.

I will never know if that strange gentle family of tall beautiful people was simply a very rare family of human albinos or if they were a group of entirely different beings?

I often wondered about that family or group of people. I have tried to search a few times to see if I could find some type of information about a family fitting that description but always came up empty handed. Maybe they still live in that area; maybe they split up and moved away to another city, state- or planet!

The next event in my life that brought me to experiencing extreme strangeness occurred when I was 16 years old.

It was a summer night in 1967. I was out with my friends but needed to return to my home at dark to return the car I was driving. My family was out and my house empty. When my friends and I drove up to my house we were met with a strange light show going on by someone in the house turning lights on and off in a frantic display of speed that would be impossible for the average human. It was almost as if the lights inside and out were set on a rapid line something like you see at Christmas time when music is set to outside lights for a holiday display. That was not yet available in 1967. Along with the strange light show we could hear a growling loud howling coming from the house in anger at the fact we would not enter the house.

The police were called and the house searched to find an overpowering putrid smell filling the house, claw marks on the walls, my clothing ripped to shreds in my room and a small chair placed behind my bedroom door with a rope and large knife lying next to it on the floor. The house smelled for days after. The police searched the area and could not find anyone of anything. They did think this thing escaped via a large water pipe tunnel system that ran in front of our street into a state park and then out to the Great South Bay.

This thing returned two weeks later to my neighbor’s house right next door. This family also had teenage girls. The people were in the home at the time. This thing tried to enter the house by ripping a large wooden window frame and all out of the side of the house to reach for one of the girls sitting near the window watching TV. The mother was at home and ran with a shot gun after hearing the window being ripped from the house and fired at the thing reaching in to the house for her daughter. The woman described the thing as a reptile looking fish colored being with a long arm with long claw like fingers. She shot the creature and it took of howling in to the night. Again the police searched but could not find it.

I could not wait to move from that house. The smell and sound of that creature has stayed with me my entire life. I do not know if it was some kind of human or some other type of creature, I just know I never want to come across it again.

I realize people do not believe me when I tell this story. I cannot do a thing about that. I do know this happened and it was one of the events in my life that make me still shake in horror to this day and one that will stay and haunt me until the end of my life.

The last experience with a strange being is not frightening however so different I never forgot about the man.

I was in my late 20s at the time. It was in the 70’s. I was working in New York City at the time.

I was working in research and worked with people from three large universities on a joint project. Pete was one of the people I worked with on a daily basis.

The moment I laid my eyes on Pete I knew he was different – very different.

Pete was a small man. He was slight even frail looking except for large extremely well defined arms. He looked like a typical nerd right down to his pocket protector who spent hours lifting weights. He had thin little legs and wild light colored hair that he wore in an Albert Einstein type disaster. My bet was that the nest on top of his head had never seen a comb.

Pete had the most unusual eyes I have ever seen. They were bright almost as if they were omitting some type of light. They would dazzle anyone talking to him so that you had to look away as keeping eye contact was simply impossible. His eyes would look different all the time ranging from a deep blue all the way to green or grays. They had many different pigments that made one color seem to mix to the next if you did try to look straight at him

Pete told me he was once a lawyer, and an architect and a scientist but now was back in school and would shortly be a medical doctor. Pete had a soft speaking voice and was not only smart he was without question a gifted genius. Pete told me how he finished his first blast through the university system at age 16 and kept going since trying out different things along the way. It seemed Pete could not find one area of interest that would hold his attention for any amount of time. Pete held a law degree, a PhD. in physics and was a licensed architect. Pete was now going to get his medical degree.

Pete had a photogenic memory and could repeat anything he had read or learned in complete detail. Pete was not like the rest of us.

I talked to Pete for hours. He was fascinating. The key was to talk to him one on one in a way he felt comfortable. Pete told me how he had suffered a lifetime of ridicule because of his differences and found it very hard to form friendships. I remarked about his unusual eyes but Pete simply looked away a bit uncomfortable while he explained them as a family trait and nothing more.

During our work time together Pete and I became friends. I will remember Peter for the rest of my life. During our time working together and as friends Pete told me a few startling things.

Pete told me that he could travel outside his body at will. He just blurted this out while we sat on a bench in Central Park drinking coffee and eating muffins during our work break one day.

“I can leave my physical body and travel with my mind to where ever I want to go you know” I just looked at him and mumbled something like “What are you talking about?”

Pete then told me that he was able to leave his body and travel with his mind to see what or whom he wanted whenever he wanted. Pete told me he was born with this ability.

Not wanting to insult my friend and not sure what was going on I could only think to say. “Where do you go and what have you seen lately?” Pete then said something that stunned me as if he had hit me with a laser gun.

“I went to your house to see what was going on” You were helping your son build a volcano for his science project and your dog was throwing up. Oh by the way the dog is eating an old seat cushion hidden behind that old shed in the back. That is what is making him sick.”

I do not think I moved even blinked. He was absolutely right!

I just sat there. Pete looked at me and said. “You have always known I was not like you or the others. Why are you acting so shocked at this?”

Pete and I talked for a few hours that day. Pete told me he was just not like other humans. For one thing his IQ was far greater than anyone could imagine and his ability to use his brain and natural abilities were more advanced or different then the everyday human. Pete knew he was different all his life. His parents raised him to understand this and also provided him with what Pete needed to reach his full abilities.

Pete was one of a kind. I just did not know one of what kind. When I asked Pete straight out if he was a human Pete just turned his head side to side as if he was looking at me for the very first time but he did not answer me.

Pete also told me he was a situs inversus totalis, which means he was born with a total reversal of his body’s organs. Everything that we have on our left is on his right. His heart is even located differently. Pete placed his hand over his beating heart and indeed it was not where it should have been.

Pete told me his life had been difficult as he tried to fit in with a population of people who were not like him. I did not know what to do or say to Pete. I told him I considered him a friend but did ask him not to visit me with his mind without my permission. Pete agreed, but oddly enough I did not believe him and think he peeks in whenever he wants to!

I long ago lost contact with Pete. I did hear he was doing great things in medicine and living somewhere in New England. I always knew Pete was very different. I never understood how or why he was the way he was. I often wonder if Pete is a super human or something else. I guess I will never know. I did try to ask Pete but he would not tell me.

Through all my experiences with the unknown including odd people or beings I have stumbled across in my life I find I am left with more questions than answers. It is clear to me that we know very little about this earth and our universe.

I do not have the answers to why the people I wrote about in this article are the way they are. I have no answers to most things considered strange or unknown. I do know many events, experiences and sightings that take place daily continue to be unexplained and left to that known as the paranormal. One day we will open our eyes and minds to understanding all of these things. Until then I am afraid we will remain lost in the Dark Ages of our own blindness when it comes to that which we find too odd to investigate or consider among that which is strange or unknown. I do hope I live long enough to one day understand what we now refuse to know.

richelle hawks at Medusa's Ladder on BoA

I swear, I just love the way richelle writes!
In the past, I have written about the color green in particular as liminal and Trickster-like: it is the great go-between on the color chart, both containing and separating the warm and cool colors, as well as culturally, with its linguistic-semiotic appointments within economics, ecology, and even within the occult and paranormal realms.
Not only her poetically off the esoteric wall language, but her choice of subject matter. Visit her recent Medusa's Ladder column on Binnall of America: Liminality and Color.
