Thanksgiving, Columbus Day, Halloween banned in a Massachusetts elementary school:
She had already told staff not to let the kids dress up for Halloween, according to the Boston Herald.
Superintendent Tony Pierantozzi told The Herald that Halloween is 'problematic' because of connections to witchcraft.
No mention of Christmas, but, being contrary here, I have to ask: what about Christmas being "problematic" because of its "connections" to Christianity/Catholics/the Vatican?

Why do I keep picking on Makow? Because, while he's hysterical and it's a surreal feeling to know there are actually people like him out there, there are actually people like him out there. The comments left on these articles are scary --- sigh, there are really people like him out there! And just about the only site you can count on to pass along Makow's homophobic, sexist, anti-Semitic insanity is Jeff Rense's site, which says quite a lot about ol' Rense.

Makow is good at one thing; no matter what the topic, he manages to weave into the article all of the following: misogony, homophobia, anti-Semitism, paranoia, uber-patriotism, and warnings of Satanic-Illuminati-Communist wars for our souls. In his current piece Feminists Surprised their Daughters are Sluts, Makow once again demonstrates this talent.
"Women's rights" indeed! Feminism is Communist in origin. Communists view women as a public utility. It is classic divide-and-conquer, satanic subterfuge which now extends far beyond gender.
Feminism is elite social engineering designed to destroy gender identity by making women masculine and men feminine. Increasingly heterosexuals are conditioned to behave like homosexuals who generally don't marry and have children. Courtship and monogamy are being replaced by sexual promiscuity, prophesied in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.
It's not illegal to be a witch in the United States. Or, for that matter, a Satanist (i.e., "devil worshipper.") It's not illegal to be a Muslim, or an atheist in the United States. But from the reactions of many to Christine O'Donnell, who are freaked by the idea she might have been a witch, you'd think it was illegal. The same mechanisms in people who are "afraid" Obama is a Muslim, as if that's an illegal act.
Fear of witchery is of course combined with pure stupid ignorance. An airhead goes blithely off with some edgy punk boyfriend who's "dabbling" in devil worship, witchcraft er, whatever. Not only from those afraid O'Donnell is, or was, a witch, or is harboring some kind of dormant witch gene that will spontanely possess her, but O'Donnell herself. Here's what she said in 1999 on the Bill Maher show:
She's so stupid she can't tell the difference between Wicca, witches, and Satanists. Neither can most of America.
People are also blaming Maher for this. All he did was have her on his show; she said it, he didn't.
Here's another fact: witchcraft, Wicca, are protected by the U.S. Army. You have the legal right to be a witch and practice that religion under the "natural relligion" category. This doesn't stop the ignorant, the snarky, and the religious intolerants from doing their best to spread fear and persecute those who are practicing witches, but it's encouraging, a bit.
The father and brother of an actress who starred in the Harry Potter films have been charged with threatening to kill her. Afshan Azad, 22, has appeared in four of the movies as Padma Patil, a classmate of the young wizard. She was allegedly attacked at her home in Longsight, Manchester, on May 21 this year. Now her father Abdul Azad, 54, and brother, Ashraf Azad, 28, both of Beresford Road, Longsight, have appeared in court.
