Which is why I propose that Syfy, National Geographic and the History Channel (and others like BRAVO, etc.,.) seriously consider doing a paranormal show with a mostly, if not all, female cast. And I'm not talking about your average formulaic paranormal show. It has to be something that's never been done before: A show for women, with women and about women from different professional backgrounds, investigating the oldest, weirdest, most paranormally significant places on Earth.

I'm for that! One of my dreams is to start my own paranormal UFO network. Hmmm...

A few years ago, I think on the Lifetime channel, there was a show about female abductees. Had a cheesy title, something like "I was abducted by aliens!" but it wasn't bad, despite the shaky camera stuff.

True, the women have power, but the King trumps the Queen. Ah, but not so fast, for Khaleesi/Daenerys Targaryen has come into her own. Surrounded by her dragons, she will indeed rule, I suspect. And I bet the red winged dragon will be her special one; the leader of the pack (all three of them), the one who leads the way

Rest in Peace Ms. Francis: An Esoteric Look

     I was sad to hear that Anne Francis had died, at age 80, of pancreatic cancer. I blogged about Ms. Francis at Pulp Jello, with a link to the very excellent Monster Island News, who has a lovely post about her.
     Aside from her role in the classic sci-fi Forbidden Planet, Anne Francis was had her own way cool TV show in the sixties: Honey West. I loved that show! I was ten years old, and watched it religiously. Boy, I wanted to be her when I grew up!
     In looking at clips of the show on YouTube, I noticed a couple of estoeric themed episodes. One is The Owl and the Eye, where Honey West is hired to protect a statue of an owl:

Ancient Aliens tonight on The History Channel

Ancient Aliens with Giorgio Tsoukalos, Erich von Daniken, Robert Bauval, Graham Hancock and others will be premiering on The History Channel tonight.  I think The History Channel has dropped the ball on this - I have seen no ads for it on the HC (not that I watch 24/7) and so far it isn't even being shown on the front page of the website.  So please tune in and don't let The History Channel bury this show like they have others.

Gray Matters on FRINGE

Coincidentally, Lesley also writes about a TV program for her column Gray Matters this week on Binnall of America.(I wrote about The Mentalist, and Psych, for Trickster's Realm this week.) Lesley really likes Fringe, and I do too; it's my favorite new show so far. Unfortunately, it's on opposite The Mentalist, but we just record one, watch the other.
