Virgin Mary ad creates controversy | Weird | News | Toronto Sun

Mary holds the pee stick and is ... well, you decide. Meanwhile, the ad has offended a lot of people, amused others. As is the way with religious stuff.

Rael Against the Machine: UFO Cult Leader Gains Political Asylum | Who Forted? Magazine

The Raelians offend a lot of people: Christians, atheists, the UFO Police and so on. They really offend some Muslims, as history has shown. Here's the latest:
Rael Against the Machine: UFO Cult Leader Gains Political Asylum | Who Forted? Magazine
Negar Azizmoradi, leader of the Iranian branch of the International Raelian Movement, has been granted asylum status in the United States after facing persecuting in her home country.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Raelian Church, they’re the pro-orgy UFO cult started by a French race car driver who believes Jesus was a prophet contacted by the extraterrestrial race that seeded human on life on Earth. Nothing weird, or anything. There’s also that whole embarrassing incident when they claimed to have created the first human clone back in 2002 (they didn’t).

Azimoradi’s family received word that she was to be arrested after publicly stating her Raelian beliefs, an arrest that would most likely have amounted to a death sentence in Iran.

A Sorcerer's Corner: Carlos Castaneda's Doomed Romance with Knowledge | Reality Sandwich

The wonderfully articulate and insightful Aeolus Kephas writes, with extreme eloquence, about the reality and truthfullness of Carolos Castaneda's works:A Sorcerer's Corner: Carlos Castaneda's Doomed Romance with Knowledge | Reality Sandwich I've always found the debate about Castaneda weird (he was a fake, he was real, he was just an academic in a library,he was an adept, a shaman, a trickster, a....) to be missing the point. Many have rejected Castaneda because he was "proven" to be a "fake." For me, that simplistic dismissal makes no sense, and clearly misses the point of what Casteneda gave to the world.

Lesley: "Cult of Pet Haters!"

Lesley's new Grey Matters column for Tim Binnall's site is now available, and as always, it's a good one. Lesley writes about the "pet haters" in Billy Meier's cult. I agree with everything Lesley has to say:Cult of Pet Haters! I'll just add that, even if it's all true -- Meier is absolutely truthful and his ETs are real and their messages are the real deal -- they can all take a long walk on a short pier. Just because they say something doesnt mean we have to like it, agree with it, or believe in them and follow them on their psycho paths. Okay, a bit of a rant there, but read the article for yourself and be sure to read the other great articles while you're there. And be sure to check out the podcasts too!
